I think people keep pets because of many reasons. Someone just wants some lovely animal, but i think the main reason why people keep their pet is that people want to be loved by someone.
There are a lot of pets which can live in the city. For example, dogs, cats, guinea pigs(which i have), hamsters and so on.
When you have an animal it is similar to a situation when you adopt the child. You must feed him, clean him, give him a huge part of your time. You give him everything and he pays with all his love. it is a lot of responsibility and a lot of happiness."You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed", - wrote Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and he was absolutely right.

In nowadays most residents of Russia there are pets. Pets, like real human friends.Once I had a cat and his name was ' Ushastyj '. He was like a Siamese cat and fluffy as I, but two years ago he fell ill and died. And I had fish yet.
Usually having a pet someone escapes from loneliness, someone gets a friend to your child etc.
In big cities the most popular pet it is the cat. Second place is dog. On the third place on popularity birdies and decorative fish.
I think that having pets at home is a big responsibility, because you've got to take care of him, walk, feed and play with it

I have a cat, he absolutely house, even sometimes is afraid to come to a balcony. I don't represent as if at all he lived somewhere without me, and as if I without him lived. I always rejoice when he comes to sleep with me or meets after school. I think, the pet is real happiness

Pets are our little friends,little brothers.We love them for their devotion and friendly faces.
People keep pets for mental support that pets can give.We keep pets to show that we can help all those ones that we have domesticised once.
In big cities pets are more popular.Big cities can tire people and pets can help them to keep people's mood.
In cities having pets is the biggest responsibility.Everything because of size of the place.Having pets in countries is easier.
